For over three decades, Canada has funded modest projects proposed and implemented by local NGOs and other grassroots organizations such as village councils, cooperatives and women’s groups through the CFLI. This has enabled Canada to respond to local needs by working at the community level. The CFLI has also served to strengthen Canada’s relationships with civil society and local communities and to build networks of contacts in countries around the world.
The Canada Fund is seeking new projects to fund. To apply for a contribution from the CFLI, applicants must submit a proposal to the Canadian Embassy. Applications will be reviewed by the CFLI committee and recommended or not for approval by the Ambassador.
The deadline for submission of CFLI projects is July 29, 2016. It is very important that proposals received follow the proper template and include a detailed budget Please contact Dakar.cfli@international.gc.ca to request a proposal form.
