The tool is intended to build users’ capacity to understand electoral risk factors, collect and analyze risk data, design prevention and mitigation strategies, and record the results of actions.
The development of the Electoral Risk Management Tool was inspired by good practices implemented by national and regional actors worldwide.
The tool has been tested by civil society organizations in Colombia and Sri Lanka and piloted by election management bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kenya. It is currently being used by electoral management bodies in Nigeria and Nepal and is due to be rolled out in six African countries over the next three years in partnership with the AU.
All user organizations are invited to provide feedback to the developing team and join a community of users where good practices can be shared.
